This position will support the Director of Lighting and Accessories in the design, sourcing and execution of product in accordance with corporate product launches and assortment strategies.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for both development and administrative tasks supporting design concepts, sample development, and final product specifications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Study market trends and competitor assortments, create Powerpoint analyses as needed
Occasionally analyze in-house sales data to identify trends / actionables
Assist with creating presentation boards of concepts and incoming product
Generate Palecek sample requests (PSR) and/or spec packets for new developments as directed by the design team
Communicate daily with overseas partners on developments, revisions, sample progress, costing, timelines
Monitor sample production status, tracking and delivery via the company’s PLM system
Track initial finish swatches for approval into the QC/PD Finish Library
Manage in-house lighting developments in conjunction with our Lamp Dept, creating component specifications for production
Set up merchandise review meetings to present product to the executive team
Assist in some product assembly/installation for sample review
Prepare pricing documents for meetings, studying comps and identifying challenges/opportunities
Work with Repair dept to make sample adjustments prior to launch
Communicate product changes to relevant parties
Review and approve initial specification sheets from overseas vendors ensuring vital measurements and packaging specs are well defined
Maintain accurate product information databases
Generate notes/recaps for key meetings
Quality control check and approval on initial inventory shipments
Target pricing and negotiations with vendors
Some proof-reading of marketing materials may be required
Responsible for the maintenance/organization of the PD sample areas
Organizational Relationships
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Must be highly detail oriented and organized
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, fluent in written and spoken English
Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, Adobe Creative applications; experience with AS400 a plus
Understanding of Palecek brand identity and market position
High degree of flexibility and multi-tasking
Industry experience a plus, especially in lighting / home furnishings
